Expert Profile
Fan Qingsheng, born in June 1963, holds a master's degree. He was admitted to Jiangxi University of Chinese Medicine in 1978 and stayed on as a faculty member after graduation, engaging in the research and development of hepatitis drugs. He later pursued a master's degree in Chinese medicine immunology at Shaanxi University of Chinese Medicine. After graduation, he joined Nanchang University, where he served successively as lecturer, associate researcher, and researcher, and held positions including Director of the Food Chemistry Teaching and Research Section, college secretary, and leader of the functional Health Foods team. From 1998 to 1999, dispatched by the China Scholarship Council, he conducted academic research as a visiting scholar in the Department of Nutritional Sciences at Pennsylvania State University. He has also served concurrently as a professor at Moutai Institute, and joined Xinxi in September 2023.
He has long been dedicated to the fundamental research, product development, and industry technical services of nutritional foods, Functional Foods, and Health Foods, and is a senior and authoritative expert in China's Health Foods field. His technical services cover pharmaceutical and Health Foods enterprises across more than 20 provinces and municipalities nationwide. He has completed the development of Health Foods in multiple dosage forms, including capsules, tablets, oral liquids, pastes, effervescent tablets, powders, tonic wines, and granules, and has led the completion of more than 500 products granted national Health Foods approval certificates. The new products he developed and launched have generated over RMB 10 billion in additional output value, and Health Foods developed under his leadership are on sale in major chain pharmacies across the country. He has led or, as a core member, completed 20 national and provincial/ministerial research projects that passed expert appraisal, and developed 2 new food ingredients approved by the National Health Commission. He has repeatedly participated in drafting and deliberating national Health Foods policies, regulations, and raw material standards, providing important technical support for the standardized development of the industry.

He has supervised more than 30 master's students in the field of nutrition and Health Foods, cultivating a large number of professional technical talents for the food and health industry.
Publications & Research Honors
He has authored 12 professional books and published more than 100 academic papers in domestic and international journals. He was chief editor of the earliest practical book series in China compiled under the Health Foods registration management measures, including industry-classic reference works such as "Health Foods Research and Development Technology", "Practical Guide to Health Foods Registration and Application", and "Principles and Basis of Health Foods Formulation". He also founded the professional WeChat account "Health Foods Registration" and "China Health Foods Network", one of the earliest Health Foods websites in China, promoting industry knowledge popularization and technical exchange.
His research achievements have successively won the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Shaanxi Province, the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education, the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of the Jiangxi Provincial Department of Education, and the Third Prize of the Science and Technology Progress Award of Nanchang City, among other provincial, ministerial, and municipal science and technology awards.
